Less Itch, More Play
Our services
At My Yard Guard, we work with each client to develop and implement an individualized and comprehensive plan to tackle your pest problem.
Services:
-
Mosquitos
We first start by examining the property to mitigate sources of mosquito breeding and larval habitat. Any areas that cannot be removed will then be treated with a larvicidal product. This alone will greatly reduce the number of adult mosquitoes we will need to target. The property may then be treated with an insecticide barrier product where appropriate. We also take great care to use a natural repellent where traditional pesticides should not be used (e.g., flowering plants or shrubs, vegetable gardens, ponds, lakes, and streams). This ensures we protect non-targeted species, especially our pollinators!
-
Ants
Fire ants will quickly ruin your outdoor experience. They can spread after rainfall and through reproduction. A queen can live up to 7 years and lay up to 1,000 eggs per day. Our staff will take a two tier approach to control these pests. Picnics are no longer a thing of the past.
-
Ticks
Ticks are a vector of disease second only to mosquitoes. They pose a risk to humans and pets alike. Our specialists will survey the property and treat where ticks like to hide. We can also suggest other ways to keep ticks out of your yard and keep your loved ones safe.
-
Sooty Mold
Sooty mold is a common problem with ornamental plants, especially crepe myrtles. Leaving an unsightly black substance stuck to the foliage, it can block photosynthesis and lead to a poorly performing plant. This is caused by a few types of insects that excrete honeydew, a sticky residue that provides a medium for the mold to grow. Once treated, you will see more blooms and vibrant foliage.
